These successful business owners began as teenagers, and so can you.Join Be Entrepreneurial, a free program sponsored by the Junior Achievement Program, Pike County Public Library, Dime Bank, and the local business community. Teens and adults are welcome to attend.Each session will be led by a business owner in Pike County who will lend expertise on different topics such as competitive advantages in business, the role of ethics in a company, writing business plans, and much more. Through interactive classroom activities, participants will develop their own products and services throughout the weeks, culminating in a presentation to business professionals during the last session.

This workshop will assist private pond owners and members of lake-based community organizations in making informed and sound management decisions, as well as provide participants with an overview of lake and pond management and restoration. Topics to be addressed include lake ecology, aquatic plant control, fisheries and wildlife issues, and water testing of ponds and lakes. The cost of the workshop is $25 per person and includes breakfast, lunch and informational materials. Registration is required.
